Ten Apples Up On Top Math Game {FREE}
My kids are SO excited to celebrate Dr.Seuss's birthday (March 2)! We've enjoyed reading many of his books this week, and over the weekend enjoyed the latest, What Pet Should I Get, at story time at Barnes and Noble. After reading one of their favorites, Ten Apples Up on Top, I simply had to put together this printable board game. It's easy to prep and easy to play, and has provided lots of Dr. Seuss math fun this week! I hope you and your kids Keep Reading...

LEGO Duplo Math Puzzles {FREE Printables}
Although I believe in teaching math in a way that is hands-on and conceptual in order to provide a strong foundation, it is also necessary to find a balance between that and fact practice. That doesn't have to mean hours of worksheets and flash cards, though! I'm always looking for fun ways for my kids to practice skills like addition and subtraction, such as this Math Twister game. Today, I'm SO excited to share our latest game: LEGO Duplo Math Keep Reading...
February Math Problem of the Day {FREE Printable!}
I love spending some time each day looking at the calendar with my kids and learning things like the days of the week, and exploring math concepts by asking questions such as, "How many days until Daddy's birthday?" or "How many more days are in January than February?" But lately, we've gotten out of the habit, as my kids know the days of the week, months of the year, etc. So I came up with a new idea to still spend some time with the calendar, Keep Reading...

Simple Trick to End the Frustration With Subtraction Regrouping
One math concept that often stumps students is subtracting with borrowing (or regrouping-whatever you'd like to call it). There are lots of concrete and hands-on ways to teach this concept so that it makes sense to kids, rather than expecting them to memorize a procedure. In the past, I have used base ten blocks or dimes and pennies as a model, which worked well, and I highly recommend teaching this in a conceptual way when introducing it to Keep Reading...
