Instead of my weekly round-up of assorted math freebies, this week I am sharing a new discovery of mine: Math Salamanders!
As a middle and high school teacher, I know where to look for extra practice worksheets (such as Kuta Software). I have not always been aware of or familiar with, however, resources and practice for elementary math classes. But now that I’m teaching my little ones, as well as tutoring a third grader, I have been on the hunt for a similar resource for younger learners. One site you may be familiar with is Homeschool Math. There are tons of great worksheets there for kindergarten on up.
But a site that is new to me is Math Salamanders. This site is FULL of practice worksheets, explanations, games, flashcards and MORE for elementary math!
What I like about it is that you can search by topic, or by grade level, making it easy to find what you’re looking for. In addition, under each topic there are multiple worksheets of various types of problems, as well as answer keys. And even though the site says it covers all math for kindergarten through 5th grade, there are some early algebra resources on there as well!
Overall, I found the site to be helpful. What do you think? Have you used this site or do you know of other free elementary resources? Feel free to share in the comments! 🙂
