{FREE} Thanksgiving Math Riddles Practice Pages – 1st-6th Grade

Not sure how to spend those last few days before Thanksgiving break? Keep students learning math while weaving in some silly riddle fun with this FREE set of Thanksgiving Math Riddles Practice Pages!

I loathe boring worksheets full of 20-30 math problems, but I also know that learning math requires students to actually, you know…do math. But this type of skills practice doesn’t have to mean boring worksheet with a list of 20 problems! That’s why I love creating silly riddle pages for my students. Let’s try to add a little bit of fun, shall we? Plus, as a teacher, I know how challenging it is to fill those days before a long break. You don’t want to waste the time, but you also can’t introduce something brand new (they’re not 100% on task at that point, and will likely forget it over the break). So I hope this variety of Thanksgiving Math Riddles Practice gives you and your students a little something to help ensure the time is well spent, but not as boring or tedious as a typical worksheet.

Thanksgiving Math Riddles: What’s Included

There are actually 3 different versions available to you in my shop (find the links at the end of the post). This includes a version for 1st-2nd grade, a version for 3rd-4th grade, and a version for 5th-6th grade.

Each download includes 2 different silly riddle pages, along with answer keys. This means it is ‘print-and-go’ for you, making the prep SUPER easy!

Skills Covered in the 1st-2nd Grade Set:

  • Addition & Subtraction within 10
  • Addition & Subtraction within 20

Use these two riddle pages as back-to-back review for all your students, or differentiate based on your students needs and abilities.

Skills Covered in the 3rd-4th Grade Set:

  • Single Digit Multiplication
  • 2-Digit by 1-Digit Multiplication

Teach 2nd grade? You could even use the single digit multiplication page with advanced 2nd graders who would prefer a challenge!

Skills Covered in the 5th-6th Grade Set:

  • Addition & Subtraction with Decimals (to hundredths)
  • Multiplication & Division with Decimals (tenths and hundredths)

*Important Note If You Teach Multiple Grades*:

Although there are 3 different sets to choose from, the riddles included in each grade band *are the same*.

I want to be sure you’re aware in case you want to mix and match across grade levels–even though the math covered is different, the riddles (and solutions to the riddles) are the same, so you’ll want to use the two pages that work best for your students without repeating a silly riddle.

I hope the variety and ease of use make this a fun, simple, and low-prep way to keep kids practicing their math skills without adding to your already very full plate this time of year.
