Blogging Resources
I began blogging in March of 2015, after much research and preparation. I’m so excited to share some of my favorite blogging resources, so if you are looking to start a blog, or if you just want to improve your current blog, you have some places to start.

If you are new or considering starting a blog, I highly recommend the book, Building a Framework by Abby Lawson.
I’ve been following her site for about a year and a half now, and have watched her blog and business grow to the point that she is earning a six-figure income! She obviously knows what it takes to be successful, and her book allowed me to get off on the right foot.
I would also recommend signing up for Amy Lynn Andrews Useletter, a weekly e-mail newsletter where she shares all kinds of blogging tips and advice for free. I love receiving this every Saturday!
As great is her newsletter is, however, I love her Knowtbook even more. It’s basically a bullet point list of ALL the resources, tips, helpful articles, etc. on blogging that she finds, all in one place. I refer to this every week as I write posts, look for images and seek to improve my site. I love that she has done all the work for me in terms of researching and finding the best information!
Another book that I highly recommend is How To Blog For Profit: Without Selling Your Soul by Ruth Soukup. This is helpful and encouraging, though not the step-by-step guide that Building a Framework is.
Some other helpful sites that I read are:
- ProBlogger
- Blogelina
- On Blast Blog (this page offers a run down of all the steps to starting a blog)
A large part of blogging is photography. I am still working to improve my photos on this site, but a new tool that I learned about (and played with!) recently should help me make huge strides!
If you have a blog (or an etsy shop) I hope you will check it out! It’s called Shotbox, and I love mine! I use it for nearly every post here at Math Geek Mama. It helps me get decent pictures even though I don’t have a fancy camera. 😉
There are LOTS of other resources out there for starting and running a blog, but these are some of my go-to books and sites! I hope you will find what you’re looking for!
