April Math Problem of the Day Calendar {FREE}
Are you ready for April showers? I don’t mind the rain because it makes everything so green and beautiful and helps rid the air of pollen and all that other stuff that make my allergies go crazy! 😉 I’m also excited about April because I have a brand new set of Math Problem of the Day Calendars to share! I’ll be honest, March was so crazy and busy, I almost forgot to make these! But today they’re ready, just in time to print by April 1st! This is such a fun and simple way to practice math each day of the month!
To Use the April Math Problem of the Day Calendar:
If my printable calendars are new to you, let me explain. They include the entire month on one page (black and white for easy printing) with a math problem on each day of the month. Then there’s a box to write the answer.
What makes this unique? The solution is equal to the date. (So on April 1st, the answer to the problem will be 1).
This is a helpful way for kids to self-check and figure out what they did wrong if they get a solution that is not the same as the date.
I would take time to discuss the problem, however, to make sure that they actually did and thought through the math (rather than just writing the date).
Ask questions such as, “How did you know that?” or “Can you explain your thinking?”
And of course, with the simple black and white design, kids can also color and decorate their calendar throughout the month! 🙂
I don’t know what it is about this simple design, but kids seem to love it! While this would make a fun activity for calendar time, or morning work each day, it would also be a great thing to send home for parents to do with their kids each day.
What a fun way for families to spend a few minutes having a daily “math talk!”
Included in this download are 2 different versions, one for grades K-2 and one for grades 3-5, covering a wide range of skills.
