This seems like a sensible way to teach regrouping, but I teach Sped 2nd-3rd grade and they do not know the value of coins. How would this work with them. Do you are anyone else have another strategy.
Bethany I have forgotten my password to sign in as a member. How do I sign in or maybe set up another password. Thank you.

A number of the students in my grade 3/4 practicum class are struggling with regrouping. 'm going to introduce this to those who require extra practice. Visual/hands-on models always assisted me when I struggled in math. Using money is a great way to connect their learning to their "real world" practices. Thank you for this informative strategy!
